Thank you Soldiers!

As most of you know, today was Memorial for the United States. It's a day to remember all the men and women that fought in naval, army, air, etc. forces. They risk their lives to protect those who they love and their county that they love. Leaving loved ones is hard because I know many friends that have mother or fathers serving for the country

So, just wanted to say all those that are fighting for America, thank you and god bless you for all you've done. As for all those that have died serving, thank you for protecting our country. We may not forget what you've done to help.
We should always remember those that try to defend our homes, no matter where we live. Again, thank you soliders.

Why must I keep forgetting?!

ACK! I AM SO SORRY FOR NOT POSTING IN A MONTH.

Although school is great for my life, it takes up most of my time for posting. Other than that, I have Poptropica Secrets Forum moderating to do, music, and spend time with friends. Lots to do with so little time.

Well, for starters, IT'S ALMOST SUMMER! I'm so excited. I get outta school on June 1st, and so far, May has been dragging to get to end of school. It's not that I dislike school. I just don't want a lot of projects and work to do. The best part of school for me is seeing my amazing teachers either mess up or do something funny and hanging out with my... 15-ish friends. Some of them are leaving next year which is so sad! I am going to miss them so much.

So, let me tell you what I wanted to tell earlier. About 2 weeks ago (May 12th to be exact) I got into a car accident. In our car was my little sister, dad, and I. In the other car, I think there was a man and woman. No one got seriously injured but I did get a seat belt burn on my neck. Let me tell you, car accidents are seriously scary things. When the airbags deployed, there was a horrible chemical smoke and for 2/3 days, I could still smell it. My mom was really mad at my dad because our car was totaled.
Since it was also a day before Mother's Day, our Mother's Day was kinda... bad. Our family was crying because we were having a huge fight and... it just wasn't a pretty scene. Everything is better now but I just want to say one thing, I NEVER want to be in a car accident again.

How about some more happier news? Well, for my health class, we had "egg babies." You had to take care of 1-4 egg babies for a week. I got triplet (3 of them) and they were all girls! I named them Sapphire (Saph) Jewel, Diamond (Dia) Jewel, and Emerald (Em) Jewel. They were a pain to take care of because you couldn't forget them somewhere and you had to take them everywhere. I really learned that, most teenagers can't take of babies on their own.

Some upcoming news, I'm going to be having my tonsils taken out on June 6th (a day after my birthday.) Since I won't be able to move around too much, don't expect me to post very much let alone go on the forum. I'll be fine though.

Thanks for visiting!

50 things to do before you turn 18....

I read this one of my friend's blog and she gave me permission to post this.

Credit goes to Selena, Sapphire Sky, Basketball King, and Ella! Thank for sharing this everyone!

50 things to do before you turn 18!

Things to do before you turn 18

1.) Sit on your roof with your friends, and if someone gives you a weird look from the street, yell "We are waiting to board the mothership!"
2.) Throw a decades party. Make every dress up from whatever year you plan on doing for the theme, and play music from that era night and dance.
3.)Have a "Water Gun Drive By." Take your water gun in the car, and shoot people walking down the street with it. Preferrably people around your age, or even people you know.
4.) Sleep out in your back yard with a bunch of your friends. It's creepy, yet super fun for everyone. Be sure to have a bonfire and everything. It's like camping, but if you get sick of it, you can go inside.
5.)Play Sweet & Sour with some friends. Stand on a street corner and wave at every car that passes. If they wave back or smile, yell "Sweet." If they ignore you or give you a dirty look, "Yell SOUR!" and chase them as long as you would like.
6.) Stay awake for a full 24 hours
7.) Go to a concert
8.) Go to a movie opening night
9.) Do something stupid off a diving board (be careful...)
10.) Go star gazing.

School Election 2012

On Thursday, April 12, it was my school's election. I need to state one thing, I HATE POLITICS.

It's not the fact that I have to listen to speeches but I just hate that you have to vote for someone. Sure it's for the best but... the whole fact is pretty intense stuff. Either way, I'd rather have a democracy than have a dictatorship!

Back to the point, I had a school election. You've seen those. It's all drama, posters, and such. Well, this year was one of the intense elections for Vice President and President. 2 of my guy friends, Taylor (like I said, GUY friend) and Chandler, were a package for VP and Pres. Then 2 of my other friends, Brittney and Taylor (this one is a girl) were also a package for VP and Pres. Both packages are amazing speakers and fun people.

We had assembly before voting and that was one of the greatest ones I've ever been to. Before I get to the VP and Pres face-off, I'll start off with the Treasurer and Secretary. Well, for those 2 chairs, only 1 person from each went for it. That meant those that wanted to be on the Student Body Committee were elected right away since no one was going against him and her. Well, one of them (I can't remember which one), had the best impression! She had a campaign with "Got Brittney?" (similar to the "Got Milk?" logo.) Well, she had milk at the election and spilled some of it. She ended up cleaning it and since she was wear heels... whoops! She fell! That made her memorable. =D

For the VP and Pres part, Brittney and Taylor went first. They gave a small speech and then started their presentation. It was mainly dancing but it was well choreographed. Along with that, their last song was Footloose and a whole bunch of my friends went up and danced with them. Before I knew it crowd went up and danced with them! That was a great impression!

Next was Taylor and Chandler. They both gave amazing speeches on how they were going to make 2012-2013 the best yet. I have to give them credit that they both would make incredible speakers someday. Then this next part surprised me. They turn on Party Rock Anthem by LMFAO and a bunch of my friends went up and started dancing. This was just like Brittney and Taylor's! Next thing I knew, everyone was going up there!

In the end, Taylor and Chandler won the election (I won't say who I voted for those that are from my school.)

So, what did you think of the school election? Is your school election like this? Comment below and let me know! (Hey! That rhymed!)

Anime Fever!

I don't how many of you know but I have been a HUGE anime fan for most of my life. I try to watch one everyday (and that's partly why I've been so busy.) For those that don't know what an anime is, it's a Japanese Style cartoon. The art are usually more elaborate. Instead of having really simple character structures, the animes focus a lot on how the human/character looks. They tend to look like this:
I don't own this picture but it's still really cute. ^_^
Anyways, I've seen going on a HUGE anime craze lately. There are hundreds of anime series created and so many to choose from. Usually, I have a hard time choosing but when I choose one, they are usually addictive (like all of them.)

SailorMoon SuperS
Okay, let's back up a bit. I bet you're wondering what my first anime was and what got me interested into animes in the first place. Well, when I was little (like 7 years old), my aunt had these video tapes of cartoons in Cantonese for me. A set of those "cartoons" happened to be SailorMoon SuperS. It's a really old anime but it is truly a classic. Well, I started watching the first one and soon, I got hooked on to it. That's pretty much how I started.

Shugo Chara!
So now, I've been watching animes all the time. Most of the ones I've been watching lately are Shoujo (for girl) ones but I watch almost anything. I've seen bit of Naruto, Bleach, and Deathnote. Then I've finished all of Shugo Chara (which I totally recommend for girls), La Corda d'Oro (this is great for classical music lovers), and Skip Beat (this one is kinda strange...) I have probably just bored you with all that info but I just wanted to share my interest with you.

If you are ever interested in what animes I'm watching, you can always look at the sidebars and check it out you can go to the Poptropica Secrets Forum and look at my biography. If you want to try watching the anime, just click the picture! Happy Watching!

I'm back from...

Hey everyone! Sorry for not posting for... About 2 months now?! You guys must really hate me for not posting and you probably thought I quit. I apologize greatly but... I went on a fishing trip... A very long fishing trip.

So, you're probably wondering what I've been up to. Well, school has always been a pain like always but I'm managing. I'm starting 4th quarter now so I'm super excited to get to summer vacation.

During March, I went to Anaheim, California to compete at a music festival. It was super fun and I even got to go to Disneyland and California Adventure!! (I wish I took some photos.) I think the best part about the whole visit was watching the "World of Color" show at California Adventure because that was wonderful! Then, there were a couple of rides that I truly loved!

Whoops, gotta get going! I promise I'll be up and posting again!!

♥Petpet

P.S. I never took a fishing trip. I have just been super busy and haven't had the time to post. =)

ALL INFO HAS BEEN FOUND ON WIKIPEDIA.COM
The book I read is called: The Wednesday Wars, If they would to make a movie I would like to play Meryl-lee Kowaslki.

The Wednesday Wars is a 2007 young adult historical fiction novel written by Gary D. Schmidt, the author of Lizzie Bright and the Buckminster Boy. The novel is set in suburban Long Island during the 1967-68 school year. The Vietnam War is an important backdrop for the novel. Holling Hoodhood, the protagonist, is a twelve year old boy who has entered 7th grade that year. This novel was given a Newbery Honor medal in 2008.[1] It was also nominated for the 2010 Rebecca Caudill Young Reader's Book Award.

Plot summary

In 1967, Holling Hoodhood is in the 7th grade in Long Island. While Jewish families reside in the north part of town and Catholic families in the south, the Hoodhoods live right in the center. On Wednesdays, his Jewish classmates attend Hebrew studies, and his Catholic classmates learn the Catechism. Holling, being Presbyterian, stays behind in class with his teacher Mrs. Baker, whom Holling believes "hates his guts" but later befriends. She at first instructs him to clean the room and do other chores; then she begins reading Shakespeare with him. While she makes Holling take exams and write essays on the plays for her to find out if he really understands them, Sycorax and Caliban, the class rats, scuttle in the ceiling and some of the teachers try to catch them. Later on in the year, Holling starts to enjoy Shakespeare, particularly his colorful insults and curses. On one of the days he is with Mrs. Baker, she says he may have one of several dozen creams puffs which have been sitting in her room, tantalizing the class. When his friends find out that he got one, they say that he owes them cream puffs. He saves all of his allowance, but ends up short. The baker selling them, Mr. Goldman, however, is, ironically, in need of a boy who knows Shakespeare. Holling gets the cream puffs in exchange for promising to play Ariel in a community production of The Tempest. The only drawback is that he must wear an embarrassing costume (tights with "white feathers on the butt"), which later ends up posted all over the school by a bully, Doug Swieteck's brother, who wants to humiliate him.
Holling is quietly disappointed with his father, whose business ambitions dominate his life and conversation. He not only fails to attend the performance, but also fails to pick Holling up and take him to an autograph signing with his baseball hero, Mickey Mantle. Fortunately Holling makes it to the autographing by using public transit, but Micky Mantle tells Holling that he doesn't do autographs for kids in yellow tights. Danny Hupfer, who has already gotten his baseball signed drops his ball in front of Mickey, saying "I guess I don't want this anymore". He and Holling leave. Mrs. Baker, whose brother owns the sporting goods store, finds a way to make it up to Holling through her connections.
Holling's older sister, Heather, referred to only as "my sister" for most of the book, is in the midst of a rebellion against her father. She cares about civil rights, works for Bobby Kennedy, opposes the Vietnam War, and disagrees with her father about almost everything. She and Holling bicker, as siblings do, but they genuinely care for one another. When he sees a bus sliding on the ice towards her, he does not hesitate to rescue her, and is hit by the bus himself. It is Mrs. Baker who takes him to the hospital and waits with him. His father does not see the need to get out in the bad weather since the teacher is already taking care of everything. When he returns to school, another picture of Holling is plastered everywhere, and this time he is seen as a hero.
Holling's relationship with Meryl Lee Kowalski begins to blossom, although her father is an architect in competition with Holling's father. A misunderstanding involving their fathers threatens to break them up, but they make up and become better friends afterwards. Meanwhile, their friend Danny Hupfer is anxious about his upcoming bar-mitzvah, and their friend Mai Thi, an orphaned refugee from Vietnam, is experiencing racism from those who blame her for the American lives lost in the war. However, Mrs. Baker, whose husband is missing in action in a dangerous part of Vietnam, treats her kindly, and her friends stand up for her.
After Mr. Hoodhood forces his daughter to work for him after school and on Saturdays, preventing her from volunteering for the Robert Kennedy campaign, the family tension increases. When her father dictates that she will not be allowed to attend college, his wish to keep her "safe" is transparent--he wants to keep her working for him for low wages and thus control her activities. She abruptly runs away with a boyfriend named Chit, and tension in the household increases. Mr. Hoodhood says that his daughter need not seek help from him in the future, and Mrs. Hoodhood quietly rebels in the only ways open to her, by no longer cooking her husband's favorite foods and by declining to join him for an evening drive in his new car.
Holling joins a cross-country running squad and gets unexpected help from Mrs. Baker, who was once an Olympic medalist in relay racing. He earns a place on the Varsity team for the upcoming year and wins a savings bond at a track meet. It is the encouragement of Mrs. Baker and his friends that enables him to win. His parents are not present.
When his father also defaults on taking Holling to Opening Day at Yankee Stadium, Mrs. Baker again comes to the rescue, for she recognizes that Holling is a good kid in a less than ideal situation. In a series of interesting and ironic twists, this event leads to a prize contract for Mr. Kowlaski, whom Holling's father had almost driven out of business.
Holling gets a late night call from his sister, who having refused to go further with Chit, is stranded in Minneapolis with only four dollars. Holling wires her the money from his savings bond and makes plans to meet her. During this episode, his sister's name is finally revealed in a touching coincidence. When his father refuses to drive him to the terminal to meet his sister, and his mother is apparently unwilling or unable to defy his father, he is given a ride by Mr. Kowalski. However, he still needs a way home for himself and his sister. His mother unhesitatingly gives him the money without telling her husband. He brings his sister home, and when Mr. Hoodhood mockingly asks his daughter whether she found herself, Holling replies for her, saying that she found him (Holling).
As the school year draws to a close, Mrs. Baker, who has learned that her missing husband is safe and will be coming home, takes the children on a camping trip. It involves many misfortunes, including losing the can-opener, being soaked by a downpour, and being attacked by clouds of mosquitoes; however, the trip turns out to be a success, especially when the widowed school cook, Mrs. Bigio, arrives with fresh supplies and a happy surprise for Mai Thi.
Holling briefly describes the closing weeks of school and the reunion of Mrs. Baker and her husband, but the maturity he has gained from his experiences shows in his commentary about the Shakespeare plays he has read and the way he connects the Shakespearean life lessons to those around him. It is clear that with the help of his sister, his friends, and his caring teacher, Holling is on the road to choosing his life path for himself rather than being cowed by his father.

Characters

Holling Hoodhood The first-person narrator and protagonist, a seventh grader who throughout the book has many conflicts with his family, friends, and teacher, ultimately leading to him "finding himself" at the end of the school year.
Mrs. Baker Holling's school teacher, who at the beginning is portrayed as the antagonist but slowly becomes a protagonist. She teaches Holling Shakespeare, and helps him out with six challenges.
Meryl Lee Kowalski Holling's girlfriend, another protagonist who helps Holling through his difficult situations.
Heather Hoodhood Holling's rebellious teenage sister, whom he rescues from a sliding bus and whom he helped get home from a bus station halfway across the country. She and Holling eventually share a tight bond with one another.
Holling's Father, Mr. Hoodhood The strict, architecturally obsessed father of Holling and Heather who is seen as the antagonist of the story.
Mr. Kowalski Holling Hoodhoods fathers job competition and Meryl Lee's Father.

Secondary Characters Danny Hupfer, Mai Thi, Doug Sweiteck and his brother, Sycorax, Caliban, Mickey Mantle, Horace Clarke, Joe Pepitone, Mrs. Hoodhood, Mrs. Sidman, Mr. Vendleri, Lieutenant Baker, Mr. Guareschi, and Mrs. Bigio.

Apologizes!

Hey. I am so very sorry for not posting! I've been greatly busy with music, schoolwork, and social life. Anyways, recently, I've felt really "unique" and lonely. Maybe it's because we are learning about emotional/mental health or my past is haunting me once again.

Well, for these past weeks, I've been feeling... Rejected. I know I don't talk much. I guess that's because I'm so used to the traditional way of school life in China. When I was young, I learned that respect is a huge part of life. So, in class, I'm so quiet because I'm so used to giving them respect. I tend to be too quiet sometimes though.

So, since I don't talk much, I'm not too fun. My friends were planning to go to the release of Star Wars in 3D and I over heard them but I wasn't sure that I was invited. They never talked to me about it so I suspected that I wasn't invited. It didn't bother me too much but I just felt, ya know, rejected. That just brought me back to my childhood.

I tried to be myself and fit in but those never work. That's when I started to notice that I would have to be a lone wolf. I could have friends to chat with but there won't be someone that I could just share everything with... At school anyways. Online, that's a complete different story.

So, I guess being rejected is bad but I'll just have to keep moving on with life. Without friends in the real world, I can still survive with friends online. It may not be exactly the same but I sometimes think that unknown bonds are better. Well, I'll try and be posting more this month.

Lunar New Year and crazy month...

Many apologizes for not posting for so long. It's just that this week... Month has just been crazy busy!! That's why I haven't been able to update my blog or post very much on a certain forum. *hint hint to a couple of people*

Well, WELCOME TO THE YEAR OF THE DRAGON!! I wish you all to have good prosperity, health, and happiness! Preparation for the new year has been really crazy. All of Sunday has been cooking food (which my parents normally did) and going to temples to pray for the New Year. What I always loved about the Lunar New Year is the activities. My mom used to tell me stories about the lantern lights and all the preparations that were taken in her hometown.

Then... There's the food. I love the food during the preparation! Each thing you eat can give you something to look forward to the new year. For example, candy could mean that the New Year will be sweet and loving. The dishes we eat are delicious though. :-) I wanna say so much more about my celebration but, I'm kinda short on time. Then I also loved dressing up for the new year! Too bad I can't anymore.

So, this month had been crazy with the semester ending, Lunar New Year, Science Fair, interesting relationships (whoops... Spilled some beans), and music. I hope that next month, I can actually post more entires to my blog. It seems that I'll have to say something pretty big next month. I'm still debating if I should tell the world or not... Well, I guess you'll have to stay tune.

The Hunger Games trilogy is a young-adult adventure science fiction series written by Suzanne Collins. The trilogy consists of The Hunger Games,Catching Fire, and Mockingjay.[1][2][3] The first two books were each New York Times best sellers, and the third book, Mockingjay, topped all US bestseller lists upon its release.[4][5]

Background

The Hunger Games trilogy takes place in an unidentified future time period after the destruction of the current nations of North America, in a nation known as "Panem." Panem used to consist of a rich Capitol, located somewhere in the Rocky Mountains, and twelve (formerly thirteen until one is destroyed) surrounding, poorer districts which cater to the Capitol's needs. As punishment for a previous rebellion against the Capitol wherein twelve of the districts were defeated and the thirteenth destroyed, every year one boy and one girl from each of the remaining twelve districts, between the ages of twelve and eighteen, are selected by lottery and forced to participate in the "Hunger Games." The Games are a televised event where the participants, called "tributes," must fight to the death in a dangerous outdoor arena until only one remains. The winning tribute and his/her corresponding district is then rewarded handsomely. Every citizen of Panem is required to view The Games.

The Hunger Games

The Hunger Games follows 16-year-old Katniss Everdeen, a girl from District 12 who volunteers for the 74th Hunger Games in place of her younger sister Prim. Also participating from District 12 isPeeta Mellark, a boy who loved Katniss the moment he laid eyes on her. As Katniss and Peeta battle the other tributes together, they pretend to be madly in love to gain favor with the audience. When the Gamemakers try to force the pair into a dramatic finale where one must kill the other to win, they threaten suicide and are subsequently both declared winners.
