Many apologizes for not posting for so long. It's just that this week... Month has just been crazy busy!! That's why I haven't been able to update my blog or post very much on a certain forum. *hint hint to a couple of people*
Well, WELCOME TO THE YEAR OF THE DRAGON!! I wish you all to have good prosperity, health, and happiness! Preparation for the new year has been really crazy. All of Sunday has been cooking food (which my parents normally did) and going to temples to pray for the New Year. What I always loved about the Lunar New Year is the activities. My mom used to tell me stories about the lantern lights and all the preparations that were taken in her hometown.
Then... There's the food. I love the food during the preparation! Each thing you eat can give you something to look forward to the new year. For example, candy could mean that the New Year will be sweet and loving. The dishes we eat are delicious though. :-) I wanna say so much more about my celebration but, I'm kinda short on time. Then I also loved dressing up for the new year! Too bad I can't anymore.
So, this month had been crazy with the semester ending, Lunar New Year, Science Fair, interesting relationships (whoops... Spilled some beans), and music. I hope that next month, I can actually post more entires to my blog. It seems that I'll have to say something pretty big next month. I'm still debating if I should tell the world or not... Well, I guess you'll have to stay tune.

The Hunger Games trilogy is a young-adult adventure science fiction series written by Suzanne Collins. The trilogy consists of The Hunger Games,Catching Fire, and Mockingjay.[1][2][3] The first two books were each New York Times best sellers, and the third book, Mockingjay, topped all US bestseller lists upon its release.[4][5]
Background
The Hunger Games trilogy takes place in an unidentified future time period after the destruction of the current nations of North America, in a nation known as "Panem." Panem used to consist of a rich Capitol, located somewhere in the Rocky Mountains, and twelve (formerly thirteen until one is destroyed) surrounding, poorer districts which cater to the Capitol's needs. As punishment for a previous rebellion against the Capitol wherein twelve of the districts were defeated and the thirteenth destroyed, every year one boy and one girl from each of the remaining twelve districts, between the ages of twelve and eighteen, are selected by lottery and forced to participate in the "Hunger Games." The Games are a televised event where the participants, called "tributes," must fight to the death in a dangerous outdoor arena until only one remains. The winning tribute and his/her corresponding district is then rewarded handsomely. Every citizen of Panem is required to view The Games.
The Hunger Games
Main article: The Hunger Games
The Hunger Games follows 16-year-old Katniss Everdeen, a girl from District 12 who volunteers for the 74th Hunger Games in place of her younger sister Prim. Also participating from District 12 isPeeta Mellark, a boy who loved Katniss the moment he laid eyes on her. As Katniss and Peeta battle the other tributes together, they pretend to be madly in love to gain favor with the audience. When the Gamemakers try to force the pair into a dramatic finale where one must kill the other to win, they threaten suicide and are subsequently both declared winners.

Petpet's First Science Fair!
I have been busy this week and as you can tell, it was because I had to prepare for my first ever Science Fair! Many students started doing Science Fairs since grade 1 or 2. Well, for me, I never got to expericence that until this year and that goes for our school too. First annual Science Fair for the school and for I! This was something that I wanted to try a long time ago and now after the months of preparation, the day came and went.
I partnered up with my good friend, Abby B. It took a lot of pondering to figure what experiment to do but after a lot of research, we decided on "Color and Taste." We wanted to see if the color you see affects what you want to eat. We decided to do 4 different food items for our families to taste. Each food item had a duplicate with a different color. For example, say one of the food items was pudding. There were two bowls of the exact same pudding. Bowl 'A' was normal or the control while bowl 'B' was the same except that we added non-tasting food color to it.
This was a pretty fun project to do because first, we got to play with food and food coloring! (Mom can't scold me for that) and second, it was interesting to see the faces people made when they ate the weird colored food as well. The science fair took up most of our day so all of our classes were well, laid off.
Being judged was kinda tricky because we were afraid we might forget something of the judges might not like our experiment. Well, once the science fair was over, it was time to give out awards and to let 10 finalists go on... To my shock, only three 8th grade projects made it to the state competition! The rest were ninth graders. Another shock was, Abby and I made it to the next round! Talk about amazing. My first science fair and look at me now!

Fashion from the Room: Scarves
It's winter time for the northern hemisphere. While it's cold outside, you can still look stylish with a scarf! First, choosing your scarf color. If you don't have any scarves and you are on a tight budget, I suggest buying a white, gray, or black color solid scarf because it's easy to put together with outfits. If you have different colored ones, try to contrast them with your outfit. (You can find them at almost any clothing stores or even knit your own.)
Now, there are tons of ways to wear your scarf. I usually like to drap it on my neck or have one end flipped back. Here are 12 different ways to wear your scarf:
Try it out someday! You might surprise yourself by looking stylish with your outfit. A scarves are great for a simple shirt you might have like a blouse or dress. Try experimenting around to see what looks best.
Need some more ideas? E-mail me at petpet.petpet123@gmail.com and maybe I can help out. Wait for more Fashion from the Room!

HPF Books: Report to the Principal's Office
I (HPF) read this book! I found it very interesting...If they were to make a movie off of it I would want to play Salem Brownmiller
Report to the Principal's Office is a 1991 young adult novel by American author, Jerry Spinelli. It depicts the first few days of school at the brand-new, state-of-the-art Plumstead Middle School. The book follows five main characters: Sunny Wyler, a girl who wants to go to her friend's middle school but can't. Eddie Mott, who wants to fit in and make new friends. Salem Brownmiller, who sees herself as a future famous writer. Pickles Johnson, who enjoys inventing all sorts of things. And finally, there is T. Charles Brimlow, who sees all of these sixth-graders as "the Principal's Posse", as he later names them. All of these sixth graders will all report to the principal's (T. Charles Brimlow's) office, hence the title, Report to the Principal's Office.
Plot summary
Hillary Kain and Sunny Wyler are best friends. They live across the street from each other. But when Hillary and Sunny find out they are going to separate middle schools, they are thrown into depression. Sunny vows to not change her shirt, not wash her hair, and never even smile until she gets into the same school as Hilary. School begins at brand-new Plumstead Middle School, and there are four sixth graders that, somehow, meet. Eddie Mott is a kid who tries to fit in, yet still has a hard time (e.g. he gets beaten up on the morning bus). Salem Brownmiller, a girl who loves to write stories, enjoys this as a writer, because she is writing a story about a sixth-grade boy's first day at middle school - and Eddie is the perfect fit.
Dennis "Pickles" Johnson, a famous child inventor, somehow finds his way with the other three kids.
And on the first day, they are all sent to the principal's, Charles T. Brimlow, office to eat lunch with him.

I'm... Normal?!
This week (to be specific Thursday), a couple of classmates were talking about what they were. We were either weird, crazy, geeky, or... Something else. What category was I put in? You guessed it. Normal. it was surprising how they said it too. It was tone... It kinda made me feel like I was something rare at out school and it kinda is. Everyone I know is either weird, geek, crazy, hyper, jerks, or shy. Me, I think I'm more a shy but then, I really like to be around people and meet new people.
Is being normal a good thing? Hmm... I guess it sounds better then crazy... but seriously, being normal, it doesn't sound like me because I'm certainly not a normal teenage. This post has just gotten really confusing but trying to prove a point, I have wackos as friends (but I love them) and being normal equals me. All those that know me online, you know I'm way more than normal... right?

Book Review #7: Demon Princess, Reign or Shine
This is a book review about, Demon Princess; Reign or Shine by Michelle Rowen. This is the first book of the "Demon Princess" series and I absolutely loved it! This is a great book for that teenage princess that's always into mischief. Even if you aren't, if you are up to a little romance, adventure, and becoming a Demon Princess, this is for you! Just when you had the best day of your life... your life goes crumbling...
This is recommended for teens that can handle some romance and evil spirits. (Think won't be a problem for those that have read books about Vampires or evil mystic creatures.) This is a narrative story which means that the narrator/main character (Nikki) tells the story.
No one ever has a perfect start, right? Well, Nikki didn't have a good start even before she was born. Her father disappeared out of the blue before Nikki even emerged to the world and that just made Nikki's world tougher. Her mother has been remarrying ever since and "3rd time is the charm?" I don't think so. Every time, Nikki's mom married someone new, they had to move so Nikki never got settled in and hardly ever fit. She finds a best friend then 2 months later... Nikki's life changed forever.
I normally don't go for these types of stories with the "demons" but this book just seemed interesting.... but then, I like almost all books. You've seen lots of books about vampires but it's not everyday that you see demons! Well, I hope you check this book out and remember, if you have any books that you'd like me to do a review on, be free to comment and tell me the book(s) you'd like me to check out! (I need to do more reviews on tween books so help me out!)

Welcome 2012
Hey everyone! This is my first post of 2012! I don't know what this year is going to bring but I will do my best to keep up with anything it throws at me. 2011 was a great year but it wasn't the smoothest ride ever. My parents had trouble with the economy. I lost a couple of friends and I experienced what it feels like to be a teen for the first time.
Well, I have a couple of New Year Resolutions for school, home, and of my blog. First on the list, school. My resolutions are to keep my 4.0 GPA this year, do my schoolwork and important projects before instead of last minute, write in my planner more (I've been slacking lately), and pay attention more in class.
For home, I want to be a better helper. Maybe help around the house more with taking out trash, sweeping the floor, vacuuming, and other chores. I could also keep my room clean (I'm clean but sometimes, I need to clean up a bit) and get along better with the family.
As for here, a resolution is to post way more. So far, for about 6 months, I have the total of 1,500 viewers! Thank you for everyone that visit around the room. Remember when I had a poll about what I should add more?? Well, I know you asked for some fashion tips but unfortanetly, I haven't been doing that at all. I promis to do that this year! I'll also try and keep up with book reviews and possibly do other stuff. But thank you for your support over the year!
Well, happy 2012!
